My Job Book › Delete your account

Delete your account

You can close your My Job Book account, and have everything in it deleted, at any time. This page explains how, and what happens — whether you use My Job Book on the website or in the Android app.

From inside My Job Book

  1. Sign in, on the website or in the app, as the account's owner.
  2. Open Settings, then Your data.
  3. Download anything you want to keep — every record is available as a spreadsheet.
  4. Under Close your account, tick the box and press Close my account.

The account becomes read-only straight away, and everything in it is deleted 30 days later. Until then you can change your mind from the same page, and nothing will have been lost.

If you pay for a subscription, cancel it from Settings → Billing as well, so you are not charged again.

If you can't sign in

Email hello@myjobbook.co.uk from the email address on the account, and tell us your account's web address (the part before .myjobbook.co.uk). We will confirm it is your account, close it and tell you the date it will be deleted — usually within two working days of hearing from you.

What is deleted

  • Your account and the sign-ins for it.
  • Everything you put in: customers, addresses, equipment, jobs, visits, notes, photographs, checklists, quotes, invoices and payments.
  • Our backups of it, which roll off within 30 days of deletion.

What is kept, and why

  • Payment records. If you ever subscribed, Paddle — who take payments for us — keep the transaction records the law requires for tax, under their own privacy policy.
  • A note that the account was deleted and when, so we can show it was done. It holds the account's name and web address, not its contents.

If a tradesperson holds your details

If you are a customer of a business that uses My Job Book, that business decides what it keeps about you. Ask them directly. If you can't reach them, email us and we will pass your request on.

More detail is in our privacy policy and data processing terms.
